Volunteer at Student U's Back-to-School Open House & Resource Fair!

Student U is a Durham-based nonprofit running an 11-year educational pipeline that supports first-generation, college-bound students from 6th grade through college graduation. As the new school year begins, we're hosting a Back-to-School Open House & Resource Fair, where students and families can connect with staff, explore resources, and get ready for a great year ahead.

We're looking for 10 warm, dependable volunteers to help bring the event to life. Responsibilities may include decorating the space, assisting with event setup and breakdown (tables, chairs, and more), greeting and directing families and attendees, providing parking directions, supporting activity or resource stations, helping at check-in or information tables, serving food, cleaning up during and after the event, and offering general support to staff and fellow volunteers.

This is a meaningful way to spend an afternoon helping Durham families feel welcomed as they kick off the school year. No experience is necessary, just an organized, positive, and people-friendly attitude.
