About Us: Urban Wildlife Research Project Volunteers
The Urban Wildlife Research Project (UWRP) is on the lookout for a passionate, ecologically-minded volunteer to fill a pivotal role within our team. We're a close-knit, informal group dedicated to making significant strides in wildlife conservation. If you're a self-starter eager to make a difference in the world of urban wildlife, look no further!
Open Positions:
We would prefer that the person applying for this volunteer position have some nonprofit experience and be able to give us a minimum of three referrals based on your experience.
A nonprofit Executive Director (ED) also known as the board chairperson, is the intermediary between the board of directors and the president. This is a very sensitive executive position.
The ED establishes the board agenda and works with project leaders as needed i.e. may do research for projects run by other Team members. The ED can, if they wish, also establish his/her own project within the Urban Wildlife Research Project.
The board chair shall preside at board meetings (Board meets once every-other-month) shall be responsible for notifying the Team of an upcoming board meeting and responsible for collecting from the Team items to be included in the agenda.
The chair shall have such other powers and perform such other duties prescribed to them by the board of directors or the president. In the absence or disability of the president, the board chair shall perform the duties of the president.
