Elder Friends Needing Volunteers! w/ Uplift Hospice!

At Uplift Hospice, we believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and accompanied — especially in their final chapter. We provide compassionate end-of-life care that honors the whole person, and our volunteers are at the heart of what makes that possible.

We are looking for kind, present individuals to serve as Companion Volunteers — people willing to simply show up and be there.

What You'll Do

As a Companion Volunteer, you'll spend time with hospice patients who may otherwise spend their days alone. Your presence is the gift. Responsibilities may include:

• Visiting patients at home, in care facilities, or at inpatient hospice settings
• Engaging in conversation, reading aloud, listening to music, or sharing quiet company
• Writing letters or cards on behalf of patients
• Providing a calming, caring presence during a vulnerable season of life
• Notifying staff of any changes in patient mood or condition

Who We're Looking For

• Warm, patient, and genuinely people-centered
• Comfortable being present in emotionally tender environments
• Reliable and consistent — patients and families count on you
• Respectful of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and end-of-life wishes
• No healthcare experience required — just a compassionate heart

Time Commitment

• Minimum of 2 hours per week
• Daytime, evening, and weekend availability welcome
• Orientation and training provided before placement
