MAKE A DIFFERENCE - Mentor a student in the Issaquah School District

Looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity with students?

VOICE (Volunteers of Issaquah Changing Education) is a school-based mentoring program that connects caring adult and high-school volunteers with K–12 students at 26 participating Issaquah School District schools for one-on-one, supportive relationships. Mentors meet with the same student for 30–60 minutes each week during the school day and make an initial commitment of one school year.

Mentoring helps create a sense of belonging. Through a consistent relationship with a caring mentor, students can feel seen, heard, valued and affirmed for who they are. These meaningful relationships foster hope, resilience and confidence, empowering students to recognize their strengths, be their authentic selves and thrive.

As one young person said, "My mentor makes me think that what I say matters, what I think matters, what I feel matters and what I do matters."
