Volunteer Remote Adoption Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Remote Adoption Coordinator to join our team at Chester’s Corner Rescue Foundation.

How You Will Contribute:

Purpose:

Manage adoption inquiries, conduct initial screening of prospective adopters, and coordinate meet and greets to support successful placements.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and manage adoption inquiries
• Communicate with prospective adopters via email and phone
• Conduct initial screening conversations to assess fit, experience, and home environment
• Coordinate and schedule meet and greets between Chester’s Corner Rescue team and potential adopters
• Maintain organized notes and applicant tracking
• Move qualified applicants through the adoption process according to Chester’s Corner Rescue procedures
• Ensure timely and professional communication with all applicants

Immediate Ownership:

Owns the intake, screening, and coordination of adoption inquiries, ensuring a smooth and organized process from first contact through meet and greet scheduling.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 to 2 years experience in adoption coordination, applicant screening, or foster/adopter intake within an animal rescue or shelter environment (required)
• Experience communicating directly with prospective adopters and assessing fit (required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to make sound judgment calls while following established guidelines
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks without constant oversight
• Comfortable handling confidential information
• Must have a working phone and computer with reliable internet
• Must reside in Pacific Standard Time (PST), preferably in California, and be available during standard PST business hours to communicate with adopters

Commitment Details:

Approximately 2 to 4 hours per week
