Beacon Hospice is seeking compassionate Certified Reiki Master Volunteers to provide supportive Reiki sessions to hospice patients in their homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities.

Many patients receiving hospice care experience anxiety, isolation, and emotional distress as they navigate serious illness. Through the gentle practice of Reiki and the healing power of presence, volunteers can help create moments of peace, relaxation, and connection for patients and their families.

This role is more than providing Reiki. It is about offering companionship, empathy, and comfort during a meaningful stage of life. Volunteers become an important part of a patient's support system, helping them feel seen, valued, and cared for.

What You'll Do

• Visit hospice patients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or private residences
• Provide Reiki sessions based on patient interest and comfort level
• Offer companionship and a calming presence during visits
• Engage patients in meaningful conversation and supportive interactions
• Document volunteer visits according to Beacon Hospice guidelines
• Collaborate with hospice staff to ensure patient needs and preferences are respected

Qualifications

• Current Reiki Master certification required
• Must provide proof of Reiki certification during the onboarding process
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability and willingness to travel to patient homes, assisted living communities, and long-term care facilities within your local service area
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional
• Comfortable supporting individuals with serious illness
• Willing to complete hospice volunteer training, background screening, and onboarding requirements
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity
