At a time of rising misinformation and declining trust in news organizations, Branch Four is working to strengthen local, fact-based reporting across the country.

Founded by a data science executive, Branch Four is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings data and technology expertise directly to local newsrooms. We help fact-driven news organizations publish investigative stories, grow their audiences, and build informative products to serve communities for the long-haul.

Volunteer with us to strengthen local journalism from the ground up!

What You'll Do:

• Gather, clean, and analyze data
• Create visualizations
• Develop data-driven insights and story ideas
• Develop unique ways to display data and insights

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Python or R

Time commitment: 5–7 hours a week for 2 months, with the option to extend.
