Blues Program CA
Looking for meaningful volunteer hours that actually do something for you too?
Blues Program CA is a free, state-funded 6-week mental health skills program for teens ages 12 to 19. It runs online via Zoom after school and costs nothing. No insurance. No documentation. No catch.
By participating you will earn community service hours AND learn real skills for managing stress, anxiety, and low mood. Skills that actually work in your life, not just in a session.
WHAT IT IS
Blues is a psychoeducational program, not therapy. Think of it like a class. Small groups of 4 to 8 teens meet weekly for 6 sessions and learn evidence-based cognitive behavioral tools including how to spot negative thought patterns, challenge them, and build real coping strategies for school, relationships, and life.
The program was developed at Stanford University and has been studied in multiple clinical trials. It is used in schools and communities across the US, Australia, and Europe. It is funded in Orange County by the California Department of Health Care Services.
WHAT YOU GET
Community service hours documented for school, NHS, college applications, or any volunteer requirement. A letter of completion from a California DHCS funded program. Real skills for managing stress and anxiety that you will actually use. A safe, confidential small group space where what is shared stays in the group. Connection with other teens who get it.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Any teen ages 12 to 19 in Orange County or the State of California. You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need to be in crisis. You just need to be a teenager dealing with the stress of being a teenager right now, and willing to show up for 6 weeks.
DETAILS
6 weekly sessions, 1 hour each, via Zoom. Weekday afternoons or evenings. Completely free. Cohort 1 starts the week of April 28, 2026.
