Volunteer Opportunity: Website Designer & Developer

MADIFF is looking for volunteers for one of its projects, AfriMEC – Africa Middle East Chamber of Commerce & Investment. We are building a high-level platform connecting business leaders, institutions, entrepreneurs, and investors across Africa and the Middle East.

AfriMEC already has an existing website, and we are looking for a creative and skilled Website Designer & Developerto help us improve, modernize, and expand it. The goal is not to build a new website from scratch, but to strengthen the existing platform, improve the user experience, and introduce new pages, features, and content as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the existing website and identify areas for improvement
• Improve the overall design, layout, navigation, and user experience
• Create and integrate new pages, sections, and website elements
• Ensure the website presents a professional and high-level institutional image
• Improve mobile responsiveness and consistency across devices
• Organize and present content in a clear and engaging way
• Support the integration of forms, calls-to-action, membership or event-related features as needed
• Work with the communications and graphic design team to maintain consistent branding
• Support basic SEO and website performance improvements
• Assist with ongoing website updates during the volunteer assignment

Profile We’re Looking For

• Experience in website design, development, or website management
• Experience working with WordPress or similar content management systems
• Strong understanding of responsive design, website structure, and user experience
• Ability to implement and customize website pages and features
• Good eye for modern, professional, and institutional web design
• Basic understanding of SEO and website performance
• Ability to work independently, collaborate remotely, and meet deadlines
• Interest in international business, investment, economic development, or Africa–Middle East initiatives is a plus
