Making Senior Friends

Just thinking about someone that lived 100 years ago, how much had the universe changed, the globe, the United States, the cities you live in. Historians are on the verge of becoming extinct. Can you even imagine not being able to travel unless your family had a horse, or what it was like to see the moon from a telescope, how did it feel for the first time to ride on something with a rubber tire? Some people have no experience of any of these things, here is an opportunity to meet people who may have written a book, made real art in a museum, learned to grow, harvest and prepare everything you ate or wore. I find it fascinating to talk to our patients did all these things. Would it be worth an hour a week to meet someone who has actually experienced all of this We need 18 and older to work in a home with a patient but at 16 you could help take a patient to the dining room to eat a meal, play some games, work a puzzle, color or paint a picture, all while getting to know someone that is wonderful to be with for a little while.
