    Location: Remote (Washington, DC–based leadership)

    Commitment: Volunteer or Part‑Time (Flexible hours)

    About Paraklet Inc.

    Paraklet Inc. is a growing nonprofit advancing women’s economic leadership, youth entrepreneurship, and community resilience in Africa with its first field operations in DRC. We are strengthening our donor‑readiness and expanding partnerships with U.S. federal agencies, foundations, and INGOs.

    Role Summary

    The Federal Grant/Proposal Writer will support Paraklet in identifying, developing, and submitting high‑quality proposals to U.S. federal agencies (USAID, State Department, USDA, DOL) and major foundations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about impact, eager to grow professionally, and committed to strengthening a mission‑driven organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research federal and foundation funding opportunities aligned with Paraklet’s mission
    • Draft concept notes, capability statements, and full proposals
    • Develop proposal narratives, including problem statements, technical approaches, MEL sections, and organizational capacity
    • Collaborate with the CEO and program teams to gather inputs and refine content
    • Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, templates, and submission requirements
    • Support development of proposal annexes (workplans, staffing, past performance, etc.)
    • Assist with editing, formatting, and final packaging of submissions

    Qualifications

    • Experience writing grants or proposals (federal experience preferred but not required)
    • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
    • Ability to synthesize information quickly and clearly
    • Familiarity with USAID, State Department, or foundation funding mechanisms is a plus
    • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to meet deadlines
    • Students, early‑career professionals, and experienced practitioners are all welcome
