Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Remote

Time Commitment: 6 hours per week | Duration: Now through mid-November 2025

Location: Fully remote (open to volunteers outside Afghanistan)

Language Requirement: Fluent English

The Role

We are seeking a capable, committed, and friendly volunteer CTO to help us support and streamline the tech side of our growing online academy. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our systems running smoothly and supporting volunteers who may not be confident with IT.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide light IT support and troubleshoot common issues for teachers, mentors, and admin staff
• Handle incoming tech-related queries via email
• Meet with our Public Relations Director to explore how to streamline internal systems
• Help organise and improve our use of Google Forms, Google Sheets, and other internal tools
• Optionally: offer input on our website, social media systems (Instagram, Facebook), and backend workflows

Who We’re Looking For

• Fluent in English
• Strong tech and troubleshooting skills
• Confident using Google Workspace (Forms, Sheets, Meet)
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly
• Reliable internet connection
• Positive attitude and a good sense of humour – we’re a spirited, international team doing serious work with heart

Availability

This is a flexible remote role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the third week of November 2025, aligned with the length of our semester. After that, we’ll reassess together and see how things evolve.

About Victory Afghanistan

Victory Afghanistan is a 100% volunteer-run international nonprofit supporting over 800 Afghan girls and women who are currently banned from high school and university under the Taliban. We provide online English lessons, mentoring, book clubs, and professional development opportunities. Our team includes 88 volunteer English teachers, 8 mentors, and a small admin team from 27+ countries.
