Position: Canvasser (Full-time)

Salary: $28/hour + Vehicle Allowance

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90017. Applicants must be able to commute reliably or relocate to this area before employment begins (Required)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with weekend availability.

Role Summary:

As a Canvasser with Base Builder, you'll play a crucial role in our grassroots initiative to empower Fast Food workers. Your role involves engaging directly with Fast Food workers, initiating impactful conversations, collecting vital data, and fostering strong relationships. You will be responsible for elevating the voices of the workforce, sharing their experiences and challenges to attract wider support for our cause. This position requires you to effectively balance teamwork with personal accountability, striving to meet and surpass daily targets alongside your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with Fast Food workers in meaningful, one-on-one conversations.

Gather signatures and data in the pursuit of organizing workers.

Sign-up fast-food workers as dues paying members of their union.

Foster and maintain ongoing relationships with workers.

Highlight and share workers' stories and struggles.

Work independently and as part of a team to achieve daily campaign objectives.

Qualifications:

People of all experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

A passion for progressive politics and social change.

Commitment to a 40-hour workweek, show up on time with energy.

Excellent navigation and interpersonal skills to enthusiastically engage with workers.

Prompt follow-up capabilities: ability to follow up with workers in a timely manner.

Receptive to feedback and adaptable.

Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current car insurance.

2-3 professional references

 Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) or Monolingual Spanish strongly preferred.
