Description

Position Overview:

The Accreditation Consultant is a core team member of BME Strategies, a Massachusetts-based public health consulting firm, and would provide planning, training, guidance and project management support to health departments pursuing PHAB Accreditation. The consultant works directly with clients and also serves as a liaison between community agencies, institutions, providers and coalitions, to fulfill the goals of the health departments and uphold the quality standards expected from BME Strategies. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate, facilitate, and complete Community Health Assessments and Community Health Improvement Plans.
  • Work with health departments and community based organizations to build community partnerships.
  • Design and disseminate surveys.
  • Guide health departments through the Readiness Assessment process.
  • Lead the completion of PHAB Domain documentation 
  • Facilitate meetings and provide follow-up materials 
  • Facilitates the collaborative work of local public health coalitions and manages logistics of meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Conduct onsite trainings and orientation sessions
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the PHAB Domains, Standards, and Measures 
  • Assists in the preparation of grant proposals and applications and with the completion of grant deliverables.
  • Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents.
  • Collects, organizes, and performs routine analyses and calculations in the processing of data for public-facing reports and presentations.
  • Assists with the development of policies, procedures, and protocols for public health services.
  • Assists with assessing the needs for health promotion and disease and disability prevention programs for cities and towns and helps strategize appropriate interventions for meeting these needs.
  • Performs other appropriate functions as assigned by the Leadership Team at BME Strategies.


Education and Experience

A successful candidate will have demonstrable experience working in applied public health (local, state, or federal level) and using data analysis techniques to report findings to the public; excellent written and verbal communications skills; the ability to balance multiple tasks with excellent organization skills; and be a polite and personable individual able to interact positively with a variety of clients and stakeholders. 

A Master’s degree in public health or a related field is preferred but not required. The candidate must live in the Greater Boston area or regionally (New England), or must be willing to relocate. A valid driver’s license is required.
