Description

School Frontiers is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join our growing team. Our company is focused on helping schools and educational nonprofits improve educational outcomes, particularly for low-resourced students, through strategic data management and analysis and evidence-based insights and recommendations. As Lead Data Analyst, you would be a critical team member overseeing and training junior level analysts and developing new models for building value from data for our many clients throughout the five state region surrounding Philadelphia. This position is hybrid, with weekly in-person days at the School Frontier Headquarters in Manayunk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of data analysis projects, focusing on enhancing educational outcomes for low performing students.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and team coordination to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Contribute thoughts and ideas to the company’s small management team.
  • Identify and take advantage of opportunities to continually refine and improve your knowledge and skills.
  • Oversee junior level analysts and contribute to the growth of their knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and background research to inform data strategies and project scopes and communicate results of those reviews to the team.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets using advanced statistical tools and methodologies (e.g., PowerBI, SPSS or similar).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to write detailed reports and create concise presentations that communicate research findings.
  • Play a key role in proposal development, articulating the value and potential impact of data initiatives to secure funding and support.
  • Engage with school community members to facilitate data collection and ensure alignment with educational goals.
  • Observe educational settings and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Design and conduct professional development sessions for educators, focusing on data literacy and utilization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Education, Social Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, with an emphasis on statistical training or data analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record in leading data-focused projects and using project management tools like monday.com.
  • Deep understanding of research methodologies and advanced data analysis, particularly in an education context.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and some experience with statistical software, such as SPSS, PowerBI, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for K-12 education policy, educational equity, and data-driven decision making with some understanding of student assessments and interventions.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting, preferably within urban schools, is highly desirable, though not required.

Join us in our commitment to making a significant impact on education through school transformation leadership, strategic data analysis and project management.
