read on! A small staffing agency located in Washington, DC, is in search of a Human Resources Generalist. This is an exempt, hybrid role (3 days on-site; 2 days remote) and reports to the company President/Founder.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is a trusted advisor responsible for delivering the highest quality of human resources services to internal employees, as well as external candidates and clients across four office locations. The role is critical in fostering a deep connection with the organization’s values and culture while serving as an ambassador for the company. The Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for leading and directing the company’s operations and human resources initiatives. Additionally, this role is responsible for increasing employee engagement, professional development, well-being, and DEI initiatives.

Essential Functions:

·   Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

·  Oversee companywide recruitment, selection, and the onboarding and offboarding process of internal employees.

·  Supervise members of the Operations and HR Team to foster a collaborative and high-performing approach to achieve service delivery.

·   Oversee weekly temporary employee payroll processing.

·  Build relationships with employees, external candidates and clients, and vendors while developing a reputation as a key business partner.

·  Collaborate with the leadership team to establish policies and contribute to companywide efforts.

·  Oversee conflict resolutions, investigations, and performance success plans.

·  Serve as an advisor to management on solutions to increase employee engagement, address organizational challenges and improve the employee experience.

·  Assess companywide training needs to apply and monitor programs.

·  Oversee unemployment claims, payroll garnishments, employment verifications, and compliance reporting.

· Oversee benefits administration of the company’s health & welfare benefits and serve as the liaison with the Benefits Broker on plan design changes, claims issues,

open enrollment, etc. Audit benefit premiums against payroll deductions and ensure regulatory compliance with COBRA and HIPAA.

·  Partner with CFO on retirement plan administration and annual Non-Discrimination Testing.

·  Manage all leave of absence to include FML, Parental Leave, reasonable accommodation requests, and workers' compensation claims.

·     Manage all insurance policy renewals and participate in compliance audits.

·      Ensure the company’s policies and procedures comply with state and local regulations.

·      Participate in coordinating internal companywide events.

·     Some travel across office locations (10 – 15%).

Required Qualifications:

·   4-year bachelor's degree in HR or related field

·   Experience with multi-state compliance, in-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

·   HR professional certification, a plus

·   Proven working experience as a HR Generalist

·     Knowledge of HR systems and databases

·   Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and proven interpersonal success

·   Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

·   Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

·      Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

·       Ability to exercise confidentiality.

·     Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, team-building and management skill
