THE ROLE

As the Assistant Principal of Operations for Meeting Street Schools – Jasper & Beaufort, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the overall educational experience and success of our students.  Reporting directly to the Principal, you will lead the development of the operational framework that supports our educational mission. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and innovation across all facets of our school’s operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Oversight of Non-Academic Functions: Lead and supervise all non-academic school-based functions and personnel, including operations specialists, office managers, data and analytics managers, registrars, receptionists, custodians, kitchen staff, and accounts payable/receivable.  
  • Continuous Professional Development: Monitor and coach school-based operations staff, providing ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities. 
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive multi-year staffing plans for school operations, aligning staffing allocations with evolving organizational needs and priorities. 
  • Campus Security and Compliance: Oversee campus security, maintenance, and cleanliness initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Data Management and Compliance: Manage compliance-related work, including data management, accreditation standards, and school report cards. 
  • Student Engagement and Community Outreach: Foster student engagement and community involvement, actively participate in and lead school and community events. 
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between school operations and other departments, fostering seamless communication and collaboration to achieve shared organizational goals. 
  • Adaptability and Accountability: Demonstrate a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, readily assuming additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. A willingness to adapt to evolving needs and priorities, coupled with an unwavering commitment to accountability and responsiveness, will be essential in navigating the dynamic and multifaceted nature of our educational landscape.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a school or school system, knowledge of school data and operations systems, and/or South Carolina state law and compliance is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of work experience including supervisory and management experience.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 and is commensurate with experience.
