The community psychology program covers education programs, women's programs, human rights issues, corporate social responsibility approach, and other development tasks on the grassroots level in Africa.

Details

The Community Psychology program focuses on children in poverty, children and youth with disabilities, orphaned children, unemployed youth, women in poverty, people with HIV, people recovering from trauma, addiction recovery, older people, the art sector, education, etc. Clinical placements are also available.

Community psychology means skills and tools to empower us to reach and work with the local community in different programs and tasks.

We use our social media pages for advocacy work, and our Facebook pages have more than 50K followers.

The internship outcome is to learn to use your studies and experience to work in developing country conditions.

Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can be from 2 weeks to 12 months. Commonly, an internship is 2-3 months long. The placement starting dates are flexible.

Academic-level team leaders supervise your internship daily. We monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to ensure you proceed well with your tasks.

We can take students in all year round as all programs are ongoing. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.

The typical morning tasks include practical fieldwork in the schools and communities, and afternoons are for planning, reporting, and social media visibility functions.

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:


Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is EUR 175 per week and is a personal expense. However, the cost drops to EUR 125 weekly after the first 13 weeks.


Airport transfers from and to EUR 120 are a personal expense


Charity VISA for immigration is USD 50 and is a personal expense. A 3-6 months charity VISA is USD 250.

We pay you a USD 100 per month stipend. It is small but 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage. Flights are a personal expense.

Local transport programs in Tanzania are a personal expense but are small if needed.

You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable tours and safaris.

This program has multi-professional aspects, so we tailor the tasks according to the participant's skill level. Research-oriented approaches are also welcome to develop the community-level issues and skills of the Tanzanian people in common. Students with disabilities are welcome.
