​Our Uganda Medical Elective program is for medical students, nurses, pre-med/pre-nursing student or a healthcare professional to work with us and to enhance your practical knowledge and skills. The program gives you as an intern the opportunity to get to know the people, the communities and the healthcare system in Uganda, while giving back to the community(s) and gaining some practical experience at the same time to what you already know.

Program participants are much involved in a very busy activities in the hospital. Program participants are given the opportunity to have direct contact with patients and work very close with medical doctor in charge. You will always have a mentor around you for questions and answers, to supervise and to guide you on what to do. The hospitals are dire need of help. Interns are rotated in various departments such as OPD, The laboratory, Surgical ward, Surgical Theater, female ward, Male ward, Children ward, Maternity ward, Physiotherapy department, Emergency ward, HIV/AIDS department, and pharmacy. After a week or two weeks rotation in the hospital, interns decide which department in the hospital they want to be placed and work. This is an opportunity where not only do you give help but it also helps you to learn a lot. Are you medical students? Are you planning to further your education in the medical field?
