Summary:

Put yourself at the intersection of LGBTQ+ rights, Jewish identity, and the broader movement for social justice in American society. Keshet seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join a phenomenal team. The Southeast Community Mobilization Manager will work with the Director of Community Mobilization to plan and implement campaigns to engage regional Jewish communities in taking action for LGBTQ rights in the Southeastern region of the United States and nationally. This position will work throughout FL, NC, SC, and GA with a particular focus on mobilizing Jewish communities in Florida and North Carolina.

The Southeast Community Mobilization Manager, in collaboration with the Director of Community Mobilization, will organize, activate, and inspire Jewish communities in the Southeast, through public education, organizing, digital campaigns, political action, and strategic partnerships.

This is a Florida-based position. This staff person will work closely with the Keshet Florida Education & Training Manager, with local partners, and with Keshet staff across the United States. The Southeast Community Mobilization Manager reports to the Director of Community Mobilization.

We engage and provide JOC-led programs for LGBTQ+ Jews of Color (JOC).

We commit to embedding a racial equity and justice lens into Keshet’s leadership and staff structure, political analysis, organizational policies, communications, and program content.

Keshet's national office is in Boston, with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, South Florida, Texas, and New York, as well as other staff across the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate and activate Jewish communities in the region to support strategically selected state and/or national LGBTQ+ rights campaigns
  • Participate in identifying campaigns that most effectively leverage Keshet’s network and assets in the region
  • Execute strategies for engaging Keshet’s extensive network of relationships with national, regional, and local Jewish institutions to advance LGBTQ+ rights
  • Develop and facilitate public education programs to educate the Jewish community about key LGBTQ+ rights issues
  • Provide logistical support for Community Mobilization campaigns and public education efforts
  • Support the production of effective campaign and educational materials in coordination with Keshet’s Communications Department

Qualifications:

  • Passionate commitment to Keshet’s vision and mission of advancing LGBTQ equality in Jewish life
  • Organizing, public or community education, mobilization, and/or campaigns-related experience
  • Excitement about diving into the day-to-day work of organizing and mobilizing
  • Flexibility, skill, and excitement about pivoting to respond to a highly variable political environment
  • Experience with digital organizing and skill in using online tools to support constituent engagement and mobilization
  • Commitment to bring a racial justice and gender equity lens to programs/work products as well as staff culture
  • Experienced in cultivating and managing partnerships and relationships across diverse communities
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, high energy, dynamic, and creative environment effectively and efficiently
  • Extensive knowledge of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences and the ability to articulate the intersections among diverse Jewish and LGBTQ+ identities
  • Knowledge of Jewish tradition, identity, and experience is preferred; ease working across a wide range of Jewish communities is essential
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Excellent planning, project management, and execution skills
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity that sometimes occurs in a fast-paced organization, and flexible enough to meet changing demands
  • Ease working with colleagues in multiple geographic locations and using technology to facilitate daily work and collaborative projects
  • Firm understanding of the importance of up-to-date data management; experience with CRM a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly, as needed

Compensation:

Salary range is $58-74,000/year.

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.
