Greenbelt Alliance is hiring a part-time People and Culture Manager to champion our values and support a thriving, inclusive, equitable and engaging environment for Greenbelt Alliance staff and the Board of Directors. This role will be focused on maintaining our positive organizational culture and staff development, planning and scheduling special team outings and events, managing human resources and hiring, and acting as a liaison to the Board of Directors.

We are looking for someone eager to collaborate in advancing the organization’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and in-person and online activities such as staff and board retreats, trainings, and outings, and board and committee meetings.

Key Activities Will Include:

  • Managing general human resources tasks including hiring, onboarding, performance review process, and staff professional development opportunities.
  • Promoting team-building and initiatives supporting staff collaboration, growth and a healthy culture.
  • Facilitating planning and operationalizing initiatives that contribute to the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Planning special activities such as staff trainings, outings, and the annual staff retreat.
  • Coordinating all communications with board members, serving as the primary staff liaison to the Board including coordinating with members to schedule ongoing and adhoc board and committee meetings.
  • Supporting the Executive Director with the planning and execution of organization-wide, cross-departmental initiatives and implementation of systems.

Desired Qualifications for Manager:

NOTE: We do not expect any single candidate to have extensive expertise/experience in all of these areas, but will prioritize candidates with demonstrated success being a critical-thinker and quick-learner.

  • Experience in human resources, office management and administration team-building, and staff engagement.
  • Experience promoting positive staff relations and organizational culture.
  • Excellent scheduling and organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Willingness to continually improve processes and systems.
  • Exceptional communications, with an ability to foster inclusivity and equity in the workplace.
  • Ability to strategize creatively and think critically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starting work ethic, comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
  • Familiarity and experience using any of the following software is a plus: Google Suite, Asana, Coda, Slack, Salesforce, Zoom, Quickbooks, BILL, Divvy, Classy, Insperity, Airtable.
  • Experience in facilitating an organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative or working with DEI consultants.
