Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: JFK's Recovery Therapists provide social and psychotherapeutic services to adults with mental illness in a recovery focused program. A recovery therapist will:

  • Provide for the needs of the person-in-recovery (PIR) based on the principles and philosophy of recovery
  • Maintain clinical responsibility for the treatment of PIRs with mental illness and/or substance abuse problems.
  • Conduct treatment for PIR in the office, home or community, incorporating individual, family and couples' therapy techniques.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate internal and/or external resources where indicated
  • Use skills to provide evidence-based treatment services, i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing
  • Identifying social, economic, and health programs & resources appropriate to support community integration.

  • Are motivated to construct and implement impactful therapeutic techniques
  • Can establish rapport and cooperative relationships with individuals possessing diminished social and emotional capacity
  • Understand the social factors which contribute to attitudes and behaviors
  • Are organized and can memorialize client progress, treatment plans and daily clinical documentation to satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Have an awareness of the laws, regulations and rules governing the provision of behavioral health services

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Relevant experience in mental health care delivery systems

Schedule: Monday through Friday: 9 am to 5 pm

Location: Center City Philadelphia, accessible to SEPTA and Regional Rail,
