Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Equity Strategy performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:

▪ Lead MCAN staff members in completing ongoing equity audits of all programs, including

sharing recommendations for improvement and amplification

▪ Partner with staff as they design and launch new programming to ensure equity is at the

heart of all activities

▪ Be a collaborative trailblazer in building an anti-racist internal culture for the organization

▪ Serve as the lead for the staff and leadership equity task force teams to ensure progression

and that equity is centered to inform the direction of the internal and external equity

strategies; additionally serve as the primary staffing support for the Board of Directors’

equity task force team

▪ Collaborate with Local College Access Networks and other partner organizations to assist

in their work to close equity gaps

▪ Seek opportunities to appropriately challenge communities and leaders to disaggregate

data; explicitly name their equity commitment; and prioritize students of color, first-theory, strategies, and practices, are able to implement within MCAN, their roles more

broadly, and across the state

▪ Ensure MCAN’s Board of Directors, staff and AmeriCorps members are well-versed in equity
