Position Description

As a champion of Rocketship's mission, culture and values, the Talent Partner is responsible for advocating and reinforcing Rocketship’s Talent strategy and advancing our culture of diversity, equity and inclusion to both our employees and students. This role supports school and operational leaders, and the Director, Talent, in executing Rocketship’s talent priorities, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, culture initiatives and change management efforts towards advancing student and employee success.  

The Talent Partner, Credentialing and Compliance, is responsible for the management related to teacher credentialing and human resources compliance. This job description does not state or imply that the duties listed are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management. 

This is a contractor position with the expectation to work up to 40 hours. The pay starts at $32/hr.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements in licensing, credentialing, compliance training and other employment requirements such as background checks, labor law postings, etc. 
  • Plans, organizes, schedules, monitors and evaluates all credentialing activities to ensure compliance and quality of the credentialing process
  • Interprets requirements and disseminates information to all involved parties to assure necessary compliance, compatibility and continuous quality improvement of credentialing and compliance
  • Partners with appropriate internal teams  and external accrediting bodies and institutions  to develop and implement systems  and processes that meet requirements and adhere to federal, state and local credentialing and compliance requirements
  • Build and retain strong relationships with authorizers and supporting organizations
  • Creates an operational and communication cadence that supports Rocketship’s strategies and objectives; makes recommendations on changes and enhancements to all Talent Compliance processes and procedures to better align with organizational needs and requirements
  • Establish internal controls are adequately evaluated and implemented; partners with other stakeholders to share key issues and implement best practices; Coach, train and direct guidance on credentialing and compliance
  • Prepare and submit applications and other credentialing and compliance reports as required
  • Provide excellent customer service consistent with Rocketship’s core values to all Rocketship employees, students, and external partners
  • Support special projects on the Talent team and perform other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the requirements and licensure to work in charter public schools in California
  • Ability to lead and facilitate processes through influence and collaboration

  • Proficient in the use of business software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and HRIS reporting tools, Workday experience is a plus
  • Team player with the drive, grit, and ability to move work forward through ambiguity and changing needs
