Title:         IT Systems Administrator

Program: IT Department - Varick St

Salary:     $75-105K Based on experience

 

Overall Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled IT System Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting our organization’s IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, storage systems, and associated hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Automating system administration tasks using scripting languages or automation tools.
  • Planning and implementing system upgrades and migrations.
  • Maintain backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support business objectives and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and training to Level I technicians.
  • Provide Level II & III technical support and assistance to end-users as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and network concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality support and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • An associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Server+, CCNA) are desirable.
