Description

The Wisconsin Writers Association is a non-profit organization that encourages, educates, celebrates, and promotes writers through its programs and services. WWA and its publishing arm, WWA Press, seek a dynamic marketer to promote our WWA Press books and our other programs and services.

Hourly Rate: $40

Expected Hours: 5-8 per week

Remote Position - Work from Anywhere!

1099 Contract Position

The Role:

  • Create and lead buzz-worthy marketing campaigns based on market data and consumer trends to drive awareness, engagement, and sales of upcoming publications and backlist
  • Manage title marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, analytics, and budgets to help maximize ROI
  • Develop and maintain a vibrant social media presence for WWA Press titles and other WWA programs and services, create and share engaging content, connect with our audience, and build a community around WWA
  • Advise our writer members on their own marketing efforts
  • Develop and implement comprehensive free and paid marketing strategies for book launches and ongoing efforts
  • Gain the author early reader reviews
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in the book industry, particularly in digital marketing, to ensure our strategies remain cutting-edge
  • Collaborate with authors to understand their vision and market their books effectively to the right audience
  • Forge relationships with local bookstores, libraries, and distributors to ensure our book finds its way onto their shelves. Advocate for the inclusion of our titles in community reading programs
  • Discovering and advising appropriate contests for authors to enter
  • Design print media such as sales sheets and bookmarks
  • Help WWA Press authors plan and execute captivating events such as readings, book signings, and interactive activities
  • Devise innovative strategies to get our titles into the hands of readers. Collaborate with organizations to maximize exposure, including social media influencers, to promote the book for maximum reach

The Essentials:

  • Demonstrated experience working in book marketing and managing social media channels and influencer campaigns
  • Proven ability to create strong, integrated campaigns including paid media and social media strategies
  • Ability to set and meet goals under an established budget
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other key stakeholders
  • Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in finding unique ways to promote our titles
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Genuine passion for books and an enthusiastic champion for authors
  • Must be regularly available during work hours, central time, US
