USGBC California - Grants Coordinator

The Grants Coordinator will support development efforts for the organization to grow the statewide green building movement. The Grants Coordinator will work collaboratively to write, prepare, and submit federal, state, and foundation grant applications. This position will be based in or around Sacramento, California. In addition, the Grants Coordinator will maintain the funding schedule and project workflows to drive the application and reporting lifecycle, tracking various funding proposal deadlines to support the fundraising efforts of the development team.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability. She/He/They thrive in a co-creation environment whether writing grant proposals or reaching out to existing funders. The candidate will have experience writing and winning federal and/or state grants. Communication and organization skills are crucial to success in this role. A sense of humor should accompany your sense of urgency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience writing federal and/or state grants is required
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability is required
  • Exceptional research and collaboration skills is required
  • Computer and database proficiency is required
  • Detail-oriented and time management is required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management or writing is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively to research, co-create, and submit proposals for funding
  • Follow all requirements and deadlines in a timely manner for grant applications
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of funding calendars and workflows
  • Identify new funding opportunities
  • Deliver reports on funding activities and progress
  • Support funder engagement as needed
  • Assist supporting regional and state events & conference with USGBC California Team

TIME COMMITMENT & COMPENSATION

This is a full-time, remote position for someone based in or near Sacramento. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
