Description

Cultiva La Salud is looking for a highly skilled Kitchen Manager. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day business operations, compliance of the community kitchen and in charge of staff supervision and policies and protocols for the use of space by vendors. This work is supported by funding from the UC ANR project.

The essential functions include but are not limited to:

•    Responsible for supervising overall kitchen operation duties including staff.

•    Conduct training on procedures and expectations for the community kitchen.

•    Complying with safety regulations and managing the workflow of all aspects of food preparation.

•    Store food products in compliance with safety practices.

•    Develop schedule for kitchen staff to ensure coverage and maximize operational efficiencies.

•     Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.

•     Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized and meets all regulatory requirements.

•     Implement policies and protocols for the use of space by vendors.

Skills/Qualifications

•     Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or restaurant management.

•     A minimum of 2-5 years of experience required, preferably in food management settings.

•     English and Spanish fluency required.

•     Excellent organization, time management, communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

•      Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.

•       Ability to engage diverse community members and small business owners.

•       Ability to work with minimal supervision and flexibility with work schedule to meet the community kitchen needs.
