Description

As the landscape of education evolves, a growing number of high school and college students are recognizing the value of credentials in showcasing their skills and readiness for the workforce. Certifications, badges, micro-credentials, and apprenticeships have emerged as valuable complements to traditional education and work experience, providing individuals with opportunities to enhance their career prospects in a diverse job market. Credentials serve as valuable alternatives, offering increased opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to access meaningful career pathways. CUNY is seeking to fill the role of Credentials & Careers Project Manager, a part-time role. Looking ahead, the Credentials & Careers Project Manager role at CUNY will play a pivotal role in expanding access to a range of course offerings, including credit-bearing, non-credit-bearing, and dual enrollment options. This hands-on program service position will be instrumental in driving initiatives that support the diverse needs of our student population and foster greater success in the workforce.

This role will support the work of the CUNY’s  K-16 Initiatives and the Office of Careers and Industry Partnerships.  The K16 Initiatives thrives on fostering collaboration between CUNY and NYC Public School, crafting a seamless pathway to a brighter future by ensuring that every incoming college student is not just prepared but empowered for success because they have been supported from early education through post-college careers, while seeking to close equity gaps and promote economic mobility. The goal of the Office of Careers and Industry Partnerships is to support students and alumni in landing a job by offering engaging skill-building programs that prepare CUNY students for real life internship and job opportunities. We have made it our mission to not only provide CUNY students with the skills to succeed in the workforce, but also increase economic mobility through direct employer engagement.
