Position Summary
The IT Specialist will manage all our IT needs as we enter into a new phase of growth and development
as Reservoir Hill’s first Smart Center. This position also provides technical support with hardware,
software, education/programming, social media, event technology (such as PowerPoints and videos),
Smart Center Development and data management, supervision of the equipment/use, and IT
programming in the Center. The IT specialist will report to the Director of Programs and Executive
Director as needed.
Responsibilities
● Manage computer lab, ensure all center electronics (computers, TVs, projectors, other
classroom equipment, etc.) are accounted for, fully operational, and virus-free. Maintenance of
all electronics, wifi connectivity, necessary cabling, necessary warranties, and MSDE
requirements
● Manage the accounting of all technology in and outside the building.
● Research and manage a list of educational “safe” sites that can be used for math, reading,
service learning, and projects. Have proper safety measures in place to prevent youth from
visiting unauthorized sites.
● Setting up hardware; install and configure software and drivers.
● Work with Smart Center partner, RowdyOrb.it, to comprehend IoT deployment and timeline,
collection of key data points to align with St. Francis brand and mission.
● Ensure adequate IT infrastructure is in place and is used to its maximum capacity.
● Comprehend and co-develop data sets to gain community intelligence while working with
Programming associates in order to leverage data insight to deepen program resources.
● Manage security options and software in Center & Staff computers and networks to maintain
privacy and protection from attacks; mend inefficiencies; perform regular upgrades to ensure
systems remain updated and troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to
restore functionality; keep records of repairs and fixes
● Offer timely technical support and train users how to utilize computers and software efficiently
● All-Suite Google administrator and expert user.; Provide training as necessary.
● At fundraising events, provide IT support with presentations, videos, and audiovisual.
● Teach coding, google certification, and other certification classes to youth & the community
● Instruct or mentor youth/teen interns interested in the IT profession.
● Look for opportunities to collaborate with partners and potential partner opportunities on
programming for the community.
Qualifications
● Previous experience in a non-profit environment
● Previous experience in IT management
● Familiarity with Omeka a plus
● Ability to code or learn coding styles
● Excellent software skills, especially Google Suite
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to work effectively both with and without supervision
● Ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload
