Description

The Development Manager is a key member of the Advocacy and Development team at The Open Door, a nonprofit organization that provides essential services and programs to people in need. The main responsibility of this role is to secure and increase individual/family donations that support the mission and vision of The Open Door. The Development Manager will manage the Donor Relations Associate and the Annual Fund. The Development Manager will also build a small portfolio with existing and potential donors and families with an emphasis on growing donors to their greatest potential. The Development Manager will collaborate with other departments within the organization to develop and execute an engagement strategy that promotes cross-functional teamwork and alignment with organizational goals. This includes working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Operations team, and the Engagement Coordinator, in all areas and across all communities.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong written and verbal communication skills, will be able to represent the organization effectively to various audiences, and will be able to work well with both internal and external stakeholders.

This role is not a typical Monday through Friday role. It is a full-time position that requires some flexibility, as it often involves weekend and evening work to attend donor engagement events. The Development Manager should expect to attend an average of one evening event per month, and some weekend events. Multi-lingual applicants strongly encouraged.
