Description

The Grants Manager is responsible for the management and writing of grants from private and professional foundations, as well as government grants. They will work with the team to build a new line of funding and attract new supporters. 

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and submit Letters of Interest, grant proposals, progress reports, and briefing materials in accordance with HWZOA guidelines, as well as foundation or government agency guidelines. 
  • In close partnership with the Institutional Giving team, collaborate with HWZOA staff and Hadassah’s Office in Israel (HOI) on timely, accurate and complete submission of grant materials. Prepare, collect, and complete required administrative and financial paperwork and necessary signatures for grant-related documents.
  • Manage and conduct ongoing prospect research for fundraising priorities.
  • Coordinate, review, draft/revise and submit documentation and budgets for progress reports. 
  • Schedule and track all institutional reporting requirements and document all activity in Salesforce, including grant proposal submissions, renewals, resubmissions, progress reports, final reports, no cost extensions requests, all communication (internal/external partners), and all necessary requirements to meet HWZOA systems and grant compliance objectives. 
  • Maintain moves management system in Salesforce for foundation relationships; create department progress reports from the database as needed.
  • Source information to develop grant proposals and reports including photographs, descriptions, success stories and statistics.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Education, Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in grants writing and management in a non-profit organization.
  • Ability to comfortably liaise with a variety of stakeholders across different entities within and outside the institution. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with appropriate discretion and diplomacy.
  •  Familiarity with fundraising software a plus.  Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills required.

  • Strong initiative and ability to implement workflow process improvements and make recommendations. Customer service- and team-work oriented. Positive attitude and solid work ethic.
