About WorkMoney

WorkMoney is dedicated to lowering costs and raising incomes for all Americans to make American life more affordable and American families more economically secure. We provide products, services, perks, benefits, tips, and tools to help members improve their financial lives, and we have become a trusted source of information about financial matters, economic policy, and public debates about the economy for our 6 million (and growing) members. We also activate and engage our members in advocacy campaigns to support policies and elected leaders to support our core vision that everyone in America can afford to live a good life. You can find out more about WorkMoney at workmoney.org and Facebook.

What are we looking for? In 2024, WorkMoney’s Advocacy team is focused on electing leaders who advance our core vision that everyone in America should be able to afford to live a good life.

We are looking to bring on two positions to our Advocacy team to support our electoral member programs. These positions will focus on our Peer-to-Peer SMS program and our calling program with additional responsibilities as the cycle evolves.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Support the Advocacy team in the planning and execution of advocacy and political programs, including coordinating staff across internal and external teams to meet objectives and targets
  • Build trainings and work with vendors to deliver timely content to callers and texters, all in a remote environment
  • Manage political program vendor relationships
  • Track objectives, analyze results, and provide regular updates and reporting on WorkMoney’s electoral program
  • Administer outreach platforms like Callhub and Strive
  • Proactively communicate up the chain of leadership to diagnose issues, flag concerns and develop fixes to keep the program on track and on time

What you’ll need to be successful:

We're looking for candidates who are comfortable leading programs through a constantly changing political environment in a high-stakes election year. Our team understands that elections have consequences for millions of families and we work hard to elect leaders who will support working people. Potential candidates should be comfortable working flexible hours, sometimes on weekends or late nights, yet not exceed 38 hours weekly as outlined in the CBA, and schedules will shift with organizational needs. All levels of educational attainment are welcome.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least two cycles of experience leading large-scale political canvassing, calling, and/or SMS programs
  • Fluency with political tech tools such as NGP VAN, GetThru, Callhub, Hustle, Strive or other similar tools
  • Proven experience creating and managing canvassing programs, including designing trainings, running quality control, and managing vendors
  • Demonstrated success working in a remote, fast-changing startup environment where flexibility is a must
  • Demonstrated commitment to economic security for individuals, working families, and communities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Availability in non-regular hours as well as on weekends within scheduling provisions allowed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Nice to Haves:

  • Native Spanish Fluency, especially Spanish language copywriting
  • Experience in building targeted lists through VAN or other CRM
  • Experience campaigning in working class communities

This is a union position subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IBEW Local 89. The annual salary for this role is $92,700 and as part of our commitment to pay transparency and equity in our organization, the starting salary for this position is not negotiable.

We’re proud to offer generous benefits like competitive pay, paid time off options, and employer contributions to retirement. WorkMoney covers the premiums for most healthcare, dental and vision plans so you don’t have to, offers a 6% 401(k) employer match and a monthly cell and internet stipend.

Why Join Our Team?

Our workplace is dynamic and we aren’t afraid to pivot when things don’t work. We’re mission driven, hard working, and scrappy. We have a good time working on hard things, and embrace the line ‘feedback is a gift’. We jump in to help each other, and make time to reflect when things go well and not so well. The truth of the matter is: we’re doing cool stuff with really cool people and having a great time doing it.

While this is a fully remote workplace, domestic travel is required for full team annual retreats and intermittent team working sessions and retreats.
