Description

SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant II will support the Director of Finance and Technology in overseeing the planning and execution of financial and accounting operations of the organization. This role is ideal for a proactive problem solver who is enthusiastic about leading process change. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with proper recording/categorization of transactions in Quickbooks and associated journal entries to ensure proper accounting.
  • Proficiently use project management tools to track and manage accounting projects, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Assist with sync to Quickbooks, itemization, and other components of credit card accounting.
  • Assist with data validation on the information included on financial and operational dashboards with their data sources.
  • Assist with the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standards at the direction of the CFO.
  • Work with external auditors and internal teams to obtain required information for the annual audit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of all expenditures, including reimbursement of employee expenses.
  • Conduct and ensure the completeness and accuracy of monthly general ledger reconciliations, including bank reconciliation and analyses.
  • Assist in developing the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Assist in developing financial analysis as needed to answer strategic or operational questions. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum one year experience overseeing accounts payable, financial management, accounting, and reporting functions; nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Experience in Quickbooks, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools is preferred, and familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com is a plus.
  • Strong interest in providing entry-level IT support and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish work priorities and apply financial accounting principles and methods to daily tasks.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess a strong desire to follow through on all projects and the ability to bring projects to timely completion.
  • Excellent relationship management skills; experience working cross-functionally with internal teams, vendors, and external partners. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated individual who takes the initiative and is always looking to grow and learn; ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A positive attitude; shows concern for people and the community and demonstrates self-confidence, common sense, and excellent listening skills.

Compensation for this role is $27.00 per hour.
