Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Budget Manager to join our team. As a Budget Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial resources of our organization. Your expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic financial planning will be vital in ensuring the effective allocation of funds and maximizing the impact of our programs.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the executive team and program managers to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. You will be responsible for providing accurate financial reports and forecasts to aid decision-making, as well as identifying areas of improvement and making recommendations to optimize resource allocation.

To succeed in this role, you must have a deep understanding of financial management principles, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as you will need to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and explain complex financial information to non-financial staff.

Status: Full Time Salaried FLSA Classification: Exempt

Summary of Position: Candidate should possess non-profit grant and program/project budgeting experience and demonstrate a successful track record of securing state, federal, and local government grants as well as funds through foundations and business development proposals.

Budget Manager is responsible for managing the budget component of business development projects in collaboration with the key organization leaders and development colleagues.

Candidates should be experienced with responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), financial analysis, developing rates for services, grant reporting, government funding and non-profit human services terminology.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field(s). Minimum of 7 (seven) years of progressively responsible experience in budget preparation and analysis, and grants budgeting preparation/management.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
  • Detailed knowledge of principles and techniques of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis of ROI are required.
  • Detailed knowledge of government (federal, state and local) RFP processes and demonstrated experience responding through detailed grant budgets and budget narratives is required
  • Detailed knowledge of providing foundation budget responses is also required.

Must provide samples of previous work products to be chosen as an interview candidate.
