Position Overview


The Knowledge and Learning Manager is part of the operations

team and plays a vital role in ensuring GEO staff have the knowledge and

information they need to maximize effectiveness. They are responsible for

strengthening the availability, accuracy and usability of data and information

so that GEO staff can make informed decisions that advance our mission. They

champion knowledge-sharing practices and create the conditions for knowledge to

flow across individuals and departments. They maintain attention to detail in

daily operations, providing on-time support and guidance to colleagues on

software operating procedures, and holds a birds-eye view to ensure software

systems are meeting organizational needs. The knowledge and learning manager

identifies key questions and needs across the organization and collaboratively

works to develop solutions.


This position reports to the Director of Learning and works

collaboratively across the organization to ensure effective knowledge

management and overall strategic learning.


This role includes ~5% travel for conference participation

or other field engagements.


 Classification

GEO

recognizes a staff bargaining unit, 1199SEIU, affiliated

with the United Healthcare Workers East. This

position is included in GEO’s bargaining unit. Specific employment terms are

subject to collective bargaining.


When working in this role you will: 


  • Work with a colleague on the membership team to pull
  • a Salesforce report to help drive an outreach campaign

  • Troubleshoot a Salesforce error experienced by a
  • colleague and research possible solutions

  • Give a presentation showing our impact and engagement
  • trends over the last year to help inform future decision-making

  • Help plan an upcoming call for the Strategic Learners
  • Network peer community, to help grantmakers incorporate more participatory
  • approaches in their evaluations

  • Partner with an IT consultant to make upgrades to our
  • file storage system so documents are easier to find

  • Pull a report and create a summary of how a member
  • organization has engaged with us over the last 3 years

  • Plan a training on how to use a project management
  • software for an upcoming staff meeting



Minimum Qualifications

   

A minimum of 5 years of relevant work

experience in managing databases, project management software,

and other software;

or a combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the

ability to perform the duties for this position. 8 years of direct relevant

experience preferred.

  • Experience with change management and leading change
  • processes within organizations.

  • Community-centered collaboration – working closely
  • with peers to understand and implement meaningful changes.

  • Knowledge of nonprofits and institutional philanthropy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce,
  • Asana

  • Proven experience conducting unbiased evaluation,
  • learning and data analysis and presenting findings in a way that is objective,
  • clear and helpful to a diverse audience seeking to create equity-centered
  • social change.

Strong written and interpersonal communication

skills with a commitment and focus on relationship building.

     

Ability to build and strengthen relationships across

teams and with a broad group of stakeholders.


High degree of personal integrity, ethics and demonstrated respect and sensitivity

for cultural differences and willingness to live into GEO’s values and

Compensation and Benefits 


GEO offers a competitive salary ($78k-$97k). The starting

salary is based on the selected candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

To counter pay inequity and uphold internal parity, we use a nonnegotiable

starting salary system, while benchmarking our pay to competitive markets.


GEO’s generous benefits package includes: 100 percent

employer paid health/dental/vision insurance; three weeks of vacation; office

closure for federal holidays as well as a one-week summer break, summer Fridays

and the last two weeks of the year; twelve sick days, two personal days, one

volunteer day; a seven percent employer retirement contribution; sabbaticals

every three years of service; wellness benefits; telecommunications

reimbursement; transportation benefits; a commitment to professional development

and growth including annual funding for professional development; along with a

Metro accessible office location in downtown D.C.
