College Success Program Manager

Organization: Latino U College Access (LUCA) is a college access and success nonprofit organization in Westchester County, NY, whose mission is to empower first-generation Latino students on their journeys to and through college so they can fulfill their remarkable potential.

Position: LUCA seeks a dynamic professional to join our team as the College Success Manager for our First-Gen Forward program. This manager’s primary responsibility will be to develop and implement programs that increase the retention and graduation rate of Latino U Scholars by engaging them through their college years. They will also support Scholars in their transition from high school to college and develop career skills required for entry into the workplace. This is a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic manager eager to make a positive impact on the lives of first-gen college students.  

Reports to: Director of Programs Status: Full-Time, Exempt Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage growth of First-Gen Forward program and preparing Scholars for college and career success
  • Support transition to college for graduating high school seniors and engage families in supporting Scholars’ success
  • Build authentic relationships with Scholars with personalized guidance on academic and non-academic issues 
  • Track, mentor, and support students throughout their college journeys to successful graduation
  • Develop and facilitate workshops for Scholars focused on social/emotional, college success, & career readiness skills
  • Build relationships with corporations and businesses to share internship and networking opportunities for Scholars
  • Manage a caseload of collegiates, track progress, and link with additional support necessary to help them succeed
  • Plan and implement special events, activities, and communications to ensure Scholars remain connected 
  • Design & deliver parent workshops exploring the college experience, and provide strategies to support student success
  • Develop LUCA Alumni network post-college graduation to support and encourage ongoing career success
  • Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes and utilize data for program decision-making and improvement
  • Prepare regular impact and participation reports for funders

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate studies in social work, counseling, education, or related fields a plus
  • College success experience with first-gen students, including academic, emotional, financial, & cultural consideration
  • Exceptional problem-solver, self-starter, quick learner, and able to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, and nimbly handle changing priorities 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Experienced facilitator delivering training and workshops for students, families, or volunteers
  • Strong collaborator; excited to engage staff, community leaders, corporate partners, and college administrators
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with diverse constituents and form strong relationships with college-aged youth 
  • Bilingual Spanish / English preferred to successfully communicate with Scholars and their families 
  • Mastery and comfort with technology; including Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and Salesforce 
  • Flexibility for evenings or weekends to deliver programming as required, either in-person or virtually via Zoom

The compensation range for this role is between $50,000 - $60,000, plus a competitive benefits package including health insurance plan, generous paid time off, retirement plan and more. The organization currently operates in a remote-hybrid model with 3 days in office and 2 virtual WFH.  Ability to work flexible hours that include evening programs and Saturday program sessions as required.
