Summary of Position

The Senior Finance Manager will provide leadership on matters related to the organization’s financial health, including cash receipts, accounts payable, and payroll processing, as well as providing overall assistance to the Operations Director. 

DEPARTMENT: Operations 

REPORTS TO: Operations Director

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Processes accounts payable and cash disbursements 
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts 
  • Prepares the annual Form 1099 
  • Leads annual audit process
  • Completes projects assigned by the Director 
  • Leads and coordinates coding of bills and provides guidance to appropriate staff on coding of bills and completing appropriate check requests and expense reports 
  • Serves as custodian of petty cash funds 
  • Supports budget development process for the organizational entities and departments

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, or three to five years of prior accounting experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills  
  • Computer Skills – must have a high degree of competency with technology and software applications, including Microsoft Office products (especially Microsoft Excel and Word), working with computer files, email and the internet. 
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
