The Center for Cultural Power (CCP) is a women-of-color, artist-led organization inspiring artists and culture makers to imagine a world where power is distributed equitably and we live in harmony with nature. We support artists through fellowships, training, and opportunities for activation. We create intersectional stories and content addressing issues of immigration, climate, gender, and racial justice. We engage movement groups in cultural strategy and organize artists around issues that inspire them. Together with allies, we are co-creating a field of cultural strategy with organizations and practitioners through convenings, design teams, and strategy tables. Position Overview:

The Contract Graphics + Social Media Coordinator will support in enhancing our online presence through visually compelling and impactful content. Working closely with the Campaigns Communications Manager and the Director of Campaigns & Engagement, this role will involve designing, developing, and distributing graphic and video assets for CEL's social media and website. The ideal candidate will be adept at using design software and templates to create high-quality infographics, header images, story images, and more. They will also source content from partners and values-aligned accounts, maintain CEL's editorial calendar, and manage posts across social media platforms. 

Qualifications:

  • Graphic Design Expertise: Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Canva to create high-quality visuals.
  • Social Media Savvy: Proven experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement across multiple channels.
  • Copywriting Skills: Ability to craft compelling and accessible copy for social media and graphic elements.
  • Content Creation Experience:  sourcing content from various sources, including partners and values-aligned accounts, to curate relevant and impactful content.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to write copy for captions, IDs, and photo descriptions to media in an accessible and inclusive manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Capacity to contribute to editorial calendar management, ensuring content aligns with campaign goals and schedules.
  • Adaptability: Willingness and capability to handle quick turnaround times for content creation when necessary, working efficiently within tight deadlines.
  • A Collaborative Spirit: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work closely with the Campaigns Communications Manager and the Director of Campaigns & Engagement.
  • (Preferred but not required): Experience with web design and back-end website editing

Responsibilities:

This role will work closely with the Campaigns Communications Manager and the Director of Campaigns & Engagement to design, develop, schedule, and distribute graphic and video assets for CEL’s social media and website. 

  • use templates and design tools (like Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva) to create infographics, header images, source content, create story images, add captions and I.D.s to media, and schedule and post content to our platforms. 
  • Use creative briefs to develop language for graphics 
  • Copywriting for social media posts 
  • Use Adobe Photoshop/InDesign templates to develop graphics 
  • Schedules and posts content to the CCP and CEL Social Media platforms 
  • Sources content from partners and values-aligned accounts 
  • Contributes to populating our CCP and CEL editorial calendar
  • Can adhere to quick turnaround timelines for content (2-3 days) when necessary
  • Be able to write accessible photo i.d.’s for images and SEO
  • Support website edits ad hoc
