Description

Grassroots International seeks a Development and Data Systems Associate (DDSA) to perform and assure data accuracy and utility across multiple platforms. The DDSA is responsible for entering accurate gift information, generating gift acknowledgments reports, and supporting special projects within the development team.  The DDSA reports to the Director of Global Philanthropy and plays a vital role within the 6-person development team. Specific responsibilities are detailed below, but as part of the team approach at GRI, the DDSA may be called on from time to time to assist with other organizational efforts.

Together we address the root causes of injustice and oppression, and build alternatives that nurture human rights, ecological justice, and liberation. We do this through grantmaking, social action, and philanthropic leadership. As a public foundation, Grassroots International raises its budget annually. Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and optimize database and CRM programs
  2. Enter gift and donor information into Raiser’s Edge efficiently and accurately to ensure data integrity and timely acknowledgement.
  3. Produce gift acknowledgement letters, and help coordinate tax letters and other mailings.
  4. Design and produce reports as requested, including monthly and quarterly status reports to assess campaign performance and progress.
  5. Handle confidential and sensitive information, including maintaining the security and integrity of the database.
  6. Pull lists to share with direct mail or other consultants.
  7. Optimize dashboards, reports, processes and integrations for other staff who use the database(s).
  8. Manage high-level database utilities, including use of Actions, Queries, Reports, and utilization of coding and attributes.
  9. Provide up-to-date information on fundraising budget to actuals, year-to-year comparisons and other data as requested in coordination with finance staff.
  10. Support special projects and emergency campaigns.
  11.  In coordination with the Development Team, research and assess potential moves to another CRM.
  12. Support with scheduling and logistical support for the Director of Global Philanthropy. 
  13. Perform other tasks as requested by the Director of Global Philanthropy.


Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills and Capacity

  1. A commitment to the mission of Grassroots International
  2. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail 
  3. Proven success in database administration and reporting (preferably with Raiser’s Edge and Salsa Engage/EveryAction), with at least 2 years of data entry experience 
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and Google Suite programs
  5. Ability and flexibility to work as part of a team in a mission-driven non-profit organization
  6. Knowledge of donor management, including online fundraising and direct mail
  7. Self-motivated to work independently as well as collaboratively
  8. Ability to remain calm while handling multiple requests 
  9. Availability to work in the Boston office at least 1-2 times per week, and travel on occasion to participate in staff retreats or events.
  10. Ability to work in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
  11. Authorization to work in the United States.
  12. Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID unless receiving an approved exemption.

Logistics and Details

  • Weekly data entry will take place in the office, the duration of which will depend on the volume of entries.
  • Non-office hours (hybrid work) will be coordinated directly with the supervisor and generally include 8 consecutive hours that fall between 8 am and 6 pm Eastern Time
  • The organization currently uses The Raiser’s Edge and Salsa Engage, but may transition to a different CRM, with significant input and oversight from this position.

Compensation

Starting salary $63.709-$70,184; excellent benefits, including employer-paid health, dental, disability, paid vacation, parental leave, and retirement plan with employer contribution; and commitment to professional development.
