As the Director of the CCC, you'll lead a passionate team dedicated to the conservation of chimpanzees and their habitats. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dynamic Leadership: Guide and inspire our dedicated teams in Guinea, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Sanctuary Management: Oversee the operations of our sanctuary, ensuring the highest standards of care and rehabilitation for rescued chimpanzees.
  • Environmental Advocacy: Spearhead initiatives to raise awareness about environmental conservation, engaging local and global communities in our mission.
  • Wildlife Protection: Play a crucial role in safeguarding the Upper Niger National Park, a vital habitat for diverse wildlife species.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and manage community projects, bridging the gap between conservation efforts and local needs.

We are looking for a person with high motivation and:

  • Significant experience and/or degree in management, project management, conservation or management of protected areas
  • Significant experience in team management in an environmental/conservation project (in Africa would be a plus). Demonstrated experience in administrative and financial management, including the production of financial and narrative reports
  • Excellent planning and communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, especially Word and Excel
  • Good command of written and spoken English and French

Additional skills:

Knowledge of Africa is a plus

Conditions and Benefits:

The position is not remote. The Director will be based in Guinea. The position is to

be filled quickly for one year renewable, with a trial period of 3 months.

Monthly salary and several benefits in kind to be discussed according to the profile and

experience of the candidate. 

The director will benefit from 8 weeks of holiday per year.

Benefits

The director will benefit from 8 weeks of vacation per year and a return plane ticket from Guinea to his/her country of origin. During his/her stay at the CCC, the director may benefit from one day off per week. Repatriation insurance will be reimbursed after the trial period up to a maximum of $500. The first ticket will be refunded at the end of the trial if it is conclusive.


Living expenses in Guinea (transport, accommodation), within the framework of the missions, are covered according to a scale established in advance according to living costs.
