Position: Social Care Program Director

Classification: Full-time

Reports to:  Executive Director

Work Location/Schedule:  New York City (Long Island City)  - On site

New York Irish Center, located just one stop from Manhattan in Queens, NY, is a center of community enrichment offering programs and services to seniors and families. For two decades NYIC has supported the needs of our community through daily on-site senior/children programs and services. The ecosystem of the center operates under three programmatic areas: Community, Culture, Care. 

From a community perspective a number of organizations use our facility for evening programs. Our cultural department offers a wide array of cultural programs led by our Director of Arts & Culture

At this time NYIC is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the role of Director of Social Care.

Job Description

Oversee and implement the day-to-day operation of social service programs at the work site.

Oversee the operation and implementation of our children's activities and programs 

Provide and ensure delivery of quality services to all clients through program coordination.

Oversee and maintain paperwork pertaining to programs

Work collaboratively with other on-site departments to facilitate effective methods of problem solving and alignment of strategies

Identify the needs of the clients, provide appropriate referrals, and follow-up services

Identify changing programs needs and services

Report weekly to Executive Director

 Job Requirements;

• Degree in Social Work or RELEVENT QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• 3+ years of direct social service experience
• Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends as needed
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
• Excellent administrative and communication skills
• Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, able to prioritize, and is highly flexible/adaptive.
• Excellent and demonstrated writing ability
• Strong assessment, direct practice, counseling, supervision, community outreach, group leadership, and program development experience preferred
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts and listen
• Ability to deal calmly in crisis situations
• Proven ability to work collaboratively well with diverse groups
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure

Compensation:

The salary for this role is - $65,000.
