About us:

Casa Marianella is a nonprofit organization based in Austin, TX that welcomes displaced immigrants and promotes self-sufficiency by providing shelter and support services to single adults and families with children. 

This position is open with the family program of Casa Marianella: “Abri Lumiere”. We serve two-parent families and single dads for an average of 3 months, until our residents can move into independent housing. We are a small team of passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of the immigrant parents and children we support.


Job type: full-time, in person in Austin, TX (30-40 hours a week)

Job summary:

The Case Management Coordinator will oversee our case management program and support our case management team to ensure that every shelter resident gets the support they need and has full access to our services: medical care, enrollment in public benefits, school and childcare enrollment, legal orientation, housing support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the case management program and support the case management team:
  • Lead the weekly case management meeting and ensure the followup on residents’ cases;
  • Update internal case management notes and spreadsheets;
  • Check in with each case manager individually on a biweekly basis to talk about goals, challenges, workload, scheduling, etc;
  • Provide hands-on help to case managers in their day-to- day missions (finding resources, checking in with clients, problem solving, etc.);
  • Provide training opportunities to the team;
  • Check in with residents:
  • Schedule an initial orientation with new residents upon arrival to present our case management program and the house rules;
  • Throughout their stay: check in with residents on a regular basis to assess progress made towards self-sufficiency, provide resources, remind expectations, ensure deadlines are met;
  • Partner with the Program Director for rule-breaks, conflicts resolution, hard conversations;
  • Program development: work with the Program Director on programming to monitor, improve and develop our services;
  • Administrative tasks: supervise the clients’ intakes files and exit forms; supervise internal monitoring for grant and audit requirements.


Qualifications:

  • +1 year of case management experience;
  • Proficiency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese required;
  • Experience working with immigrant communities preferred;
  • Ability to work at least one evening shift per week (5pm to 9pm)  and one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday evening) per month;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with clients across different languages and cultures;
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail;
  • Openness to working on miscellaneous tasks and projects that are necessary to the functioning of the shelter;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite software.


Pay & Benefits:

  • $15/hr starting pay + possibility to get overtime

Level of Language Proficiency
