Responsible for the coordination and evaluation of CCS’ trauma-informed volunteer program and CCS community outreach efforts. Develop and implement recruitment and retention practices for trauma informed volunteers. Provide guidance, support and resources to staff who supervise and train volunteers. Coordinate and organize strategic community outreach throughout San Diego County. This position also supports the facilitation of the California Office of Emergency Services-certified Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Training as well as ongoing support and learning opportunities for volunteers.
Essential Functions:
- Implement goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the volunteer program and update as needed to reflect the mission, values, and needs of the organization.
- Coordinate and conduct outreach efforts to share CCS service, connect with community and recruit volunteers based on current agency program needs.
- Strategize and lead best practice volunteer retention strategies, including matching volunteers to programs based on fit, onboarding, and ensuring subsequent training, evaluation, and recognition.
- Responsible for coordination of all volunteer roles and ongoing communication with volunteers to strengthen the volunteer experience and ensure ongoing connection to the organization and mission.
- Responsible for seeking and coordinating new volunteer engagement opportunities to support CCS success(corporate volunteer groups, university groups).
- Partner with Training Manager to coordinate and facilitate CCS’ Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Training program.
- Oversee CCS’ Volunteer Database, ensuring accuracy and compliance set for by grants and CCS policies.
- Responsible for pulling data reports and ensuring volunteers and volunteer supervisors are trained and informed on appropriate timesheets, trainings, and utilizing the database.
- Responsible for maintaining positive community relations, including fostering, and maintaining excellent relationships/partnerships with universities, civic groups, government entities, businesses, media, funding sources, and community partners.
- In collaboration with PEAS team ensure a cohesive social media identity by researching and creating messages, tasks, and activities across platforms that support volunteer recruitment, retention and sharing CCS’ mission.
- Deliver community outreach and educational presentations, and trainings in the community throughout regions of San Diego County, according to CCS standards, in compliance with funder requirements, and to fulfill community needs.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, or related field or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year working in an organizing or coordinating role.
- A minimum of one (1) year working in the field of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience conducting outreach and/or providing education on complex issues to the general public.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year coordinating or providing supervisory support to volunteers in nonprofit setting.
- Master’s Degree in social work, public health, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual/Multilingual fluency of one or more languages (written and oral).
