The Opportunity: Careers through Culinary Arts Program, Inc., the national workforce development nonprofit is looking to hire a Program Coordinator  This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, partially remote (must be based in Los Angeles County and able to travel regionally), reporting to the Los Angeles Program Director.

About Us: Long co-chaired by chef Marcus Samuelsson, Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a workforce development nonprofit that provides underserved teens a pathway to success. Annually, C-CAP provides culinary, job and life skills to over 22,000 middle-and-high school students across the entire state of Arizona, as well as in Baltimore, Camden, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City & Long Island, Newark, Philadelphia, suburban Maryland, and Washington DC.

About the Position:  The Program Coordinator will be involved with all aspects of supporting the leadership team on programmatic, administrative and fundraising efforts including:

Program Administration

  • Coordinate with the C-CAP LA Team and industry partners on planning teacher sessions; info sessions; Job Training; trainings and competitions
  • Create annual program participation links for Non-Perkins, Perkins, and Middle school registrations
  • Distribute annual school info and registration links with current and potential schools 
  • Utilizing Salesforce, input new LA accounts and contact records, update older records as needed
  • Coordinate with Salesforce Database Administrator on duplication management 
  • Set up all LA based student/alumni/teacher/volunteer programs in Salesforce 
  • Submit FormAssembly requests for program sign-ups
  • Close out program campaign in Salesforce post-program
  • Generate Google Meet links for sessions and programs
  • Produce all program sign-ins, name tags, judging sheets, any other printed materials needed for programs
  • Update digital materials with current program stats and figures
  • Coordinate with National and LA team on annual scholarship distribution
  • Organize annual student Awards Breakfast with LA team
  • Other duties as assigned

Fundraising

  • Work with C-CAP’s National and LA team, LA Council to coordinate for LA annual gala
  • Maintain event tracking spreadsheets including inputting ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations
  • Day of event support including coordinating all check-in and seating arrangements
  • Schedule LA Council meetings (once per month) 
  • Take meeting minutes at LA Council meetings

Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in the culinary field 
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Salesforce/other CRM system 
  • Experience serving under resourced populations a plus
  • Strong sense of empathy and commitment to serving C-CAP’s constituents
  • Ability to travel to NYC for C-CAP’s annual benefit 
  • Candidate must live in Los Angeles County
