community exists at Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society. The
organization is searching for its new Executive Director.
The mission of Homeward Bound is to be a
community-centered shelter that supports the human-animal bond through
compassionate care, adoption, education, and advocacy. The agency’s vision for
the community is that it will be one:

Temporary respite through Pets in Crisis and the support
of low-income families and their pets with food and veterinary care are just
two examples of how Homeward Bound works on immediate and long-term goals.
Dedicated and creative staff, supportive Board members, and a dynamic community
of volunteers and donors stand behind the agency’s work.
The Executive Director will be part of this team and will
be responsible for the lead or oversight of the general operations of the
agency. This will include, but is not limited to, cost-effective and humane
operation of the shelter, oversight of the medical/surgery suite, development
of new programs, financial management, fundraising, and staff and volunteer
recruitment and retention.
This position is designed for someone with three to five
