BASIC FUNCTION

This position works with leadership across Cinereach to manage strategy and execution for Cinereach’s outward, public-facing events. This position has the responsibility of building the framework for Cinereach’s overarching external events strategy in collaboration with marketing, and key stakeholders across the organization. This position's ability to create large and small scale events—both in-person and virtual—will help support Cinereach’s strategic goals around being an influencer and a trusted creative partner within the entertainment ecosystem. Working closely with Cinereach’s head of Marketing & Communications, this position identifies, develops and capitalizes on events which heighten the visibility, presence and position of Cinereach as a storytelling thought leader and convener of discussions on popular entertainment and narrative change.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Events Manager is the primary project manager for Cinereach outward, public-facing events. In this capacity, the Events Manager manages event logistics in consultation with key stakeholders across the organization ranging from defining event goals and objectives, determining event content, event promotional strategy, site identification, contract negotiation for services, hiring and directing vendors, technical support, post-event communications, and other duties as needed. (40%)
  • The Events Manager works with the leadership team to develop a holistic strategy for Cinereach Events across departments that integrates the goals of Marketing, Story Incubation, Research and Workshops, Community building, business development, and fundraising. In this capacity, the Events Manager collaborates with all Cinereach departments to identify event goals, and track metrics for success. (25%)
  • This position works with the head of Marketing & Communications and the MarComm team (e.g., the Sr. Manager, Marketing & Communications and Art Director) to promote attendance at Cinereach Events and produce events that demonstrate Cinereach is a thought-leader. (10%)
  • This position works closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and the Community Learning & Design team to develop events that achieve their departmental event goals. (10%)
  • This position collaborates with the head of Fundraising to produce events that help them achieve their departmental goals (e.g., donor prospecting, cultivation, fundraising, etc.) (10%)
  • This position is responsible for developing and tracking key performance indicators for Cinereach Events, such as the number of attendees, and the number of new email addresses or contacts acquired from an event, event net promoter score, etc. (5%)
  • Open to traveling 4-6x per year to support Cinereach events..


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Position reports to Cinereach’s head of Marketing & Communications


SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Task-oriented supervision of vendors/contractors (as necessary)


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+  years of experience in event planning and management 
  • Entertainment industry experience and/or familiarity with film festivals or interactive events preferred
  • Passion for the Cinereach mission
  • Excellent attention to detail, timelines, budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, anticipate, and troubleshoot event logistics
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build and maintain a wide range of partnerships. 
  • High-quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • High-tolerance for ambiguity and change in a fast-paced start-up-like environment. 
  • Available 9AM-5PM Eastern time zone. Ability to work a varied schedule (evenings and weekends) when required.  
  • Demonstration of Cinereach values of practicing curiosity, showing compassion, embracing change, being responsible, and cultivating creativity. 


Salary

$70,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with geography, qualifications and experience.
