ENGAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

Position: Engagement and Operations Coordinator (full-time, non-exempt) 

Reports to:   Executive Director, Delaware Arts Alliance

Location:   Flexibility to work from home or office in downtown Wilmington    

SUMMARY

The Delaware Arts Alliance (DAA) is a nonprofit advocacy organization that serves as the unifying voice for the arts in Delaware. We inform, empower, and mobilize Delawareans who cultivate, support, and advance the arts, and work closely with art educators, individual artists, and non-profit and for-profit organizations in the creative economy. The DAA seeks an Engagement and Operations Coordinator to act as the organization’s strategic connector, communicator, and executor.

They will play a key role in helping to launch the Creative Economy and Tourism Expansion (CREATE) Plan, a roadmap to growing and strengthening Delaware’s creative economy and cultural tourism sector. This plan will be the first of its kind in the nation and will provide data, policy recommendations, and vision for Delaware’s creative economy.

The Coordinator will provide critical support (both strategic and administrative) to the content development, deployment and community engagement of the CREATE plan to help the sector chart a roadmap for statewide policy change. They will also play a key role managing DAA’s key operational and stakeholder engagement functions including communications, social media, advocacy initiatives, and member engagement and management.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher) and quick to learn or leverage other software programs for advocacy such as Voter Voice. Has some experience/familiarity with Airtable, Stripe Payment Gateway, Mailchimp, Adobe PDF, Canva, Bit.ly, Google drive, Google documents and spreadsheets.
  • Looking to gain experience across a wide range of projects and a key contributor to a growing organization serving Delaware’s creative economy

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • A bachelor’s degree preferred  
  • 1-3 years experience with nonprofits, arts organizations, advocacy, administration or related field 
  • Delaware-based strongly preferred  

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Creative Economy   
  • Provide support for the Creative Economy and Tourism Expansion (CREATE) Plan 
  • Manage DAA member engagement and communications in the rollout of the CREATE Plan and ensure sustained engagement and communications with DAA members and key audiences after the CREATE plan launch 
  • Provide operational and communications support to ensure high quality community engagement on behalf of the DAA 
  • Execution of key deliverables such as Toolkit dissemination, newsletter and social media engagement, and identifying and elevating “champions”  
  •  Operations  
  • Manage dues renewal process for member organizations 
  • Manage process for new member recruiting and onboarding  
  • Support logistics and preparation of materials for board meetings 
  • Support occasional fundraising efforts such as DoMore24.  Improve and maintain processes related to fundraising such as DonorBox software and donor communications templates  
  •  Communications and Advocacy 
  • Engage a diverse set of stakeholders in DAA advocacy efforts by  
  • Managing and growing the impact of our VoterVoice software and legislation tracker. 
  • Managing DAA social media, e-newsletters, and website for general communications and specific advocacy campaigns     
  • Leading logistics for events such as Arts and Culture Caucus and March for the Arts 
  •  Additional responsibilities as directed by Executive Director 

 COMPENSATION  

  • Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000 annual salary.
