POSITION SUMMARY:

The PSA Network Director is a versatile, entrepreneurial, and strategic nonprofit leader who is responsible for managing and growing F.Y. Eye’s PSA Network, a one-of-a-kind community media cooperative that provides a platform for nonprofit organizations to gain access to the public square via a network of digital advertising screens throughout NYC. This important role will strengthen both the PSA Network and F.Y. Eye’s mission to elevate trusted community voices and ensure that critical information and resources reach populations in need.

As the leading force of the cornerstone program at F.Y. Eye, The PSA Network Director will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the program, as well as serve as a thought leader within our growing organization. Responsibilities will include PSA Network “Host” relations with community partners, Network expansion, building new relationships with nonprofit organizations and partnering on new strategic collaborations, PSA submission outreach, and PSA Alert communications. They will also work closely with the creative team to conceptualize and develop timely PSAs in-house and incorporate PSAs from our fee-for-service clients into rotation.  

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, and working closely with the creative team, the PSA Network Director ensures the success and growth of the Network. Core tasks include strategic planning, outreach, PSA funding and corporate sponsor research, database management, proposal writing, monitoring, measurement, and evaluation of the PSA Network’s impact, and other assignments as requested. In addition to the effective and efficient management of the PSA Network, this position will act as an external relationship partner on behalf of F.Y. Eye.

F.Y. Eye’s WORK:

F.Y. Eye’s cornerstone program, the PSA Network, is a community media cooperative run by and for nonprofits. The PSA Network offers a free advertising platform to other mission-driven organizations. Currently, each PSA averages 24 million impressions across 1,800 screens – amplifying issues related to public health, affordable housing, civic engagement, financial justice, and disability and immigrant rights, among others.

F.Y. Eye further works to democratize advertising by providing accessible, community-driven creative campaigns in partnership with nonprofits and mission-driven partners. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

PSA Network Host Relations

  • Build strong working relationships with all our PSA Network Host organizations, including regular site visits across NYC, technology reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Explore and pursue opportunities with current and prospective Host organizations to ensure the continued growth of the Network.
  • Create training materials and conduct learning sessions for Hosts to inform them about how they can leverage their digital screens beyond the F.Y. Eye-driven PSAs.
  • Lead quarterly Host Roundtable meetings with engaging and informative content to deepen Host relationships with F.Y. Eye.
  • Troubleshoot any technological or logistical issues and stay current on all emerging media trends that support the Network.
  • Conduct regular outreach to unearth the demographics and their interests/needs at each Host site and compile/update the PSA database. 

PSA Network Operations

  • Cultivate relationships with prospective nonprofit organizations to increase the number of PSA submissions.
  • Manage incoming PSA submissions via website forms and outreach to develop and  track the PSA calendar.
  • Oversee messaging and creative of internally conceptualized PSAs for timely roll out, in cases such as health emergencies.
  • Ensure Host billboards are working and being optimized and support the management of hardware/software installation with subcontractors.
  • Manage and monitor content rotation to ensure screen time is shared as specified in Host agreements.
  • Work with the creative team to ensure the submitted PSA designs meet F.Y. Eye’s standards. 

Executive Support: Marketing, Communications & Development

  • Work with the Executive Director to curate a positive and supportive PSA submission/campaign experience with our nonprofit partners via updates, meetings, presentations, metrics/final reports, and introductions to additional visibility opportunities at F.Y. Eye.
  • Conceptualize and participate in the drafting of media stories and announcements about the PSA Network to garner positive media attention.
  • Assist in identifying and applying for funding opportunities for the PSA Network, including corporate sponsorships and grants, to support the sustainability and growth of the Network.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop PSA resource materials and webinar trainings for nonprofit organizations.
  • Work with the Executive Director across all aspects of the PSA Network to ensure its growth, relevance, and impact in an ever-changing media environment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of community outreach, program management, communications, advertising, design, business development and/or media experience.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college. Graduate degree preferred.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Self-motivated with deep organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong networker and presenter. 
  • Superb and versatile writing skills.
  • Personable with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical with great attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, act as both a program leader and a team player, and be a resourceful and creative thinker.
  •  High level of computer proficiency and comfort troubleshooting technical issues, including familiarity with Google applications, social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), and MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint). *Design skills not required but familiarity a plus, including WordPress/Webflow and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and/or Canva.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. A generous benefits package will also be offered including paid vacation, personal and sick days, health insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with an employer match.
