National Field Director Job Description:

Poder Latinx, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Latinx communities, is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the National Programs Director. This key leadership role will oversee program operations across six states and manage a team of Regional Program Managers and the National Leadership Programs Director  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, team leadership, and a passion for advancing social justice within the Latinx community.


Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Work in close partnership and collaboration with the SLT team to drive organizational initiatives and goals, including with Communications, Development, Operations, Data Directors. 
  2. Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the National Programs department, in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Organizational leadership to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, etc 
  • Provide vision and direction for programmatic initiatives, ensuring they are innovative, impactful, and responsive to the needs of Latinx communities.
  1. Team Management:
  • Supervise, direct and mentor Regional Program Managers responsible for program operations in six states, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Supervise, direct and mentor National Fellowships Programs Lead, who manages our fellowship programs aimed at developing emerging leaders within the Latinx community.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the National Programs team.
  1. Program Oversight:
  • Monitor program implementation in six states, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Program Managers to identify opportunities for program expansion, improvement, and innovation.
  • Review and analyze program metrics and outcomes, making data-driven decisions to optimize program effectiveness.
  • In partnership with Poder Latinx’s Data Department, manage the VAN and key voter engagement tools. 
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • In partnership with the development team, lead donor cultivation and stewardship for high-profile programs
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, funders, government agencies, and other advocacy organizations.
  • Represent Poder Latinx at meetings, conferences, and events to promote our mission and initiatives on a national level.
  • Developing and or overseeing reports to key funders. 
  1. Budget and Resource Management:
  • Manage the budget for the National Programs department, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with programmatic goals.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support program operations, including staffing, grants, and other programmatic expenses.
  • Monitor program implementation in six states, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Program Managers to identify opportunities for program expansion, improvement, and innovation.
  • Review and analyze program metrics and outcomes, making data-driven decisions to optimize program effectiveness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, advocacy, or related fields, with a strong track record of leadership and impact.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and building strong, collaborative relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of issues impacting Latinx communities and a commitment to advancing social justice and equity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach to program management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and challenges.


The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid family leave, sick time, vacation, generous health benefits, and retirement match.


Additional Qualifications are a Plus:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing civic engagement, organizing programs and staff.
  • Familiarity with Blocks quality control software  
  • A demonstrated passion for civic engagement and advancing social and political change on environmental, immigrant and economic justice. 


Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds overhead without issue.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and or working on a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work on long hour, nights, weekends, and tentatively travel
  • Working cell phone
  • Active Driver’s license, with reliable transportation with valid auto insurance coverage

COVID Disclosure: Poder Latinx has transitioned to lead operations on the ground, staff should be comfortable with attending in-person activities and must meet the following requirements: 

  • Must be fully vaccinated, have proof of vaccination card and be willing to update vaccine status as required.
